I was very intimidated by this assignment...I will probably say that with all assignments that deal with computers. However, the hardest part of the assignment was trying to figure out what to do it on. I recently bought a new laptop and used the built in webcam and software that it came with to do my recording. It wasn't that hard at all. I played around with it a little and figured out how to add the snowing effect.
This past Friday, my boyfriend had double hernia surgery so I have been staying with him and helping him out- cooking, cleaning, taking care of his dogs, etc. The only time I have left the apartment was to get a refill on one of his perscriptions yesterday, so can we say CABIN FEVER!!! You can tell from my powerpoint that I live for anything beach, so this snow is breaking me down. I could not think of anything to do for this vodcast, so I thought in honor of all of this glorious snow, I would recite a short poem by one of my all time favorites, Shel Silverstein called Snowball. Starring along side me is Douglas' Boston Terrier, Maggie (she was very interested as to why I was talking to the computer). So even if the poem isn't that deep in meaning, Maggie's pretty adorable to look at=) Hope this makes you snow haters smile!

INTRODUCTiON
I am a returning student to IUPUI after a 2 1/2 year break. I was pursuing a career in retail management and was volunteering as a cheerleading coach for my youngest sister's squad when I discovered my love for working with kids. I will never forget the first day that one of my girls thanked me for helping them and that they loved cheering because of me. It was an amazing feeling. Since then I knew that I wanted to go back to school for elementary education.
I would not consider myself computer savy at all. With the exception of school and Facebook (of course), I make it a point to stay away! I was intimidated by this assignment and thought this blog was going to be very challenging, but found it to be far from that. The only thing that was hard for me was getting it to look the way I wanted it to. My advice is to pick something-font, colors, designs, etc.- and then change it a few times to see what all you can do. If you like to detail, it will be fun for you!
